When you decide to have children, one of the most exciting parts of pregnancy is getting to see the images from your ultrasound. If you would like a sneak peek at your little one, here are the best times to schedule a 3-D/4-D ultrasound.
26 to 28 Weeks
For the best results, schedule your 3-D/4-D ultrasound after the second trimester. Between 26 and 28 weeks, you child will start to develop a familiar routine of activity and rest. You will also notice more arm and leg movement throughout the day.
28 to 30 Weeks
During this period, your baby will begin to gain weight at a rapid pace in preparation for delivery. At this point, a 3-D/4-D ultrasound will show smoother, plumper skin, and you might even catch an unexpected somersault in the womb.
30 to 32 Weeks
From 30 to 32 weeks, you and your partner are most likely to see facial features during an ultrasound. If you schedule your appointment during this period, you can expect to see facial expressions, head movement and eye movement.
Above all else, be sure to schedule regular appointments throughout your pregnancy to check on the development of the baby. For more information on when to get a 3-D/4-D ultrasound, contact North Park OB-GYN today.
